		<Abstract>The present study aimed to investigate the role of community participation and impact of tourism on residents’ support for development of sport events tourism in coastal cities. The method is practical in terms of purpose and is descriptive-explanatory based on data collection which was carried out in a survey way. The data collection tool is a standard questionnaire. The sample size was determined 384 people based on Cochran&#039;s formula. Quantitative methods and EXCEL and SPSS software were used to collect data, and PLS Smart software was used to analyze the data due to their non-normality. The results show that the path coefficient between community participation and residents&#039; support for the sport tourism development is 0.276, the path coefficient between community participation and the socio-cultural effects of tourism is 0.653, the path coefficient between community participation and the economic effects of tourism is 0.567, the coefficient The path between community participation and environmental impacts of tourism is 0.646, the path coefficient between socio-cultural impacts and residents&#039; support for sport tourism development is 0.203, the path coefficient between economic impacts and residents&#039; support for sport tourism development is 0.227, and the path coefficient between environmental impacts and residents&#039; support for sport tourism development is 0.265 in coastal cities. The results show also that there is a significant relationship between community participation and the social, economic and environmental effects of tourism in coastal cities, and we can achieve the desirable results by strengthening them.</Abstract>
