Copyright Policy and Licensing Statement

Applied Research in Sport Management (ARSM) is a fully Open Access journal. All articles are distributed under the terms of the  Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY NC) 4.0 license, which permits non-commercial use, distribution, adaptation, and reproduction in any medium, provided that the original work and source are properly cited.

As a condition of publication in ARSM, all authors agree to the following terms regarding licensing and copyright ownership:

  1. Copyright Ownership

    • Authors retain copyright for all work published in ARSM.

    • First publication rights for original work accepted for publication are granted to ARSM, but copyright remains with the authors.

  2. Licensing Terms

    • All published works are licensed under CC BY-NC 4.0.

    • By applying this license, authors allow others to download, reuse, reprint, modify, distribute, and/or copy the work for non-commercial purposes, provided that the original authors and source are properly cited (including a complete bibliographic reference and a link to the ARSM website).

    • No permission from the authors or the journal is required for such use.

    • Any reuse or redistribution must indicate the original CC BY-NC 4.0 license terms of the work.

  3. Exceptions

    • Exceptions to the application of the CC BY-NC license may be granted at the discretion of the journal editors in reasonable extenuating circumstances.

    • All exceptions must be provided in writing by the editors; in the absence of a written exception, the CC BY-NC 4.0 license applies to all published works.

  4. Additional Agreements

    • Authors may enter into separate, non-exclusive agreements for distribution of their published work, with acknowledgment of its initial publication in ARSM.

    • Authors may also post their work online in institutional or disciplinary repositories or on personal websites.

      • Pre-print versions should include a citation and link to the final published version as soon as it is available.

      • Post-print versions (including the publisher’s final PDF) must include a citation and link to the ARSM website.

  5. Third-Party Materials

    • Authors are responsible for obtaining all necessary copyright permissions for any third-party material included in their manuscript.

    • Written evidence of permission must be provided upon acceptance of the manuscript.
