Identifying factors affecting the development of online services in sports events

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify the factors affecting the development of online services in sports events. This research was done with a practical purpose and a mixed exploratory approach. In the qualitative part, through interviews with 14 experts and professors of sports event management, data has been collected and analyzed by theme analysis. In the quantitative section, through a questionnaire designed based on the findings of the qualitative section, data was collected from 110 managers and people involved in sports events. Structural equation method has been used to analyze quantitative data. The validity and reliability of the research tools have been confirmed using thematic analysis and Cronbach's alpha methods, respectively. The findings showed that the number of 36 primary concepts (open code), 6 main concepts or themes (improvement of customer experience, electronic payment, development of communication and interaction, development of electronic services, development of infrastructure and electronic marketing) in the form of online service development model in Sports events were identified and determined. Also, improvement of customer experience, development of communication and interaction and development of electronic services were prioritized. Therefore, the findings of this research can be used as a road map for the development and improvement of online services in this field
