Abstract

The share of sports in the national economy of each country has a direct relationship with the amount of investment made in the sports sector. ،Therefore the present research examined the state of privatization of state sports facilities in Alborz province. The statistical population includes all presidents and vice presidents of sports and youth departments of Alborz province and its district, heads and deputies of provincial boards, tenants of sports venues, coaches, Physical Education experts of sports and youth departments and PE faculty members. Using the ground theory method, categories, concepts and items were extracted for causal conditions, contextual factors, intervening factors, strategies and consequences. In the research process, the current state of privatization of state sporting venues, the opportunities and threats facing the privatization of sports venues, the challenges and obstacles of the privatization of venues were investigated. According to the extracted conceptual model, the causal conditions include the high sensitivity and importance of sports in the country, the significance of the privatization, governmental management, the international situation, the positive effects of privatization, the limitations facing privatization. The contextual conditions including internal organizational factors and limitations increase in incentives for the development of privatization on employment and public sports and the influential components of the existing situation, and environmental drivers were identified as intervening conditions. Considering the positive results of privatization, taking steps in this direction is beneficial for sports venues.
