Abstract

The present study was conducted with the aim of Evaluating and providing Physical Fitness Norms of Students of Farhangian University, Nasibah Campus, Tehran. The research method was a descriptive application and the statistical population was all the educational sciences students, among whom 325 female students participating in the general physical education course were selected by random sampling. The data were collected in the final test by plank, push-up, 800-meters run, and station test. Data analysis and provision of standard norms were done using descriptive statistics, Z standard score, area under curve, and software norm. The results of the present study showed that the achieved average records in four tests including 800 meters, standing, plank, and push-up were 4.85, 62,19, and 1.30 respectively. According to the norm, the best scores are awarded to students who can set records of 3.79 (m/s) at 800 meters, 72 (s) in the Plank, 27 repetitions in the push-up, and 1.06 (m/s) in the station test. Therefore, it can be concluded that the condition of the students, in the four physical fitness tests evaluated, is far from the ideal conditions. Finally, the researchers developed physical fitness norms for female students of Farhangian University (Nasibah Campus, Tehran), which can be used as references in the future. Physical fitness norms for students from this study are considered to be useful for physical education professors who can test the physical fitness of students appropriately separated by sex level.
