Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between social capital and professional passion of faculty members of Payame Noor University. This research is applied and descriptive-correlational in terms of data collection. The statistical population consisted of all the faculty members of physical education in 8 centers and 18 units of Payame Noor University of West Azerbaijan Province, and 200 people were selected as samples. Data were collected using two standard questionnares: social capital of Nahapit and Ghasal (1998) and Salwanova & Shufley professional passion (2001). The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Finally, the structural model of the variables was presented with LISREL which according to the criterion indices (RMSEA = 0.096) had a good fit. The main results of the research showed that social capital at a 1% error rate has a direct impact on professional passion and the coefficient of the path is 0.61, so that as much as faculty members benefit from the capital, their occupational passion will be even greater at the level of professional energy, professional sacrifice and professional fascination.
